Mothers' Union is a Christian organisation which promotes the well-being of families worldwide.

We achieve this by:

• developing prayer and spiritual growth in families
  
  
• studying and reflecting on family life and marriage and their place in society
  
  
• resourcing our members to take practical action to improve conditions for families, both nationally and in the communities in which they live

Mothers' Union is a praying, teaching and caring society open to both men and women. Mothers' Union Province of Canterbury has in the region of 60,000 members in 31 dioceses.

26 Provincial Presidents from around the world met together in June 2000 and stated:

"Mindful of the constant challenges facing marriage, the Mothers' Union President and the Provincial Presidents world wide continue to uphold all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. They also recognise in this regard the obligation to reach out to all God's people and to respond appropriately to their needs."
